a short bio written by myself
(it’s almost always written by the authors themselves, just in the third person, which makes it kind of awkward)
About 10 years ago, I quit an unstable job to become a full-time comedian and, therefore, even more unstable.
In the meantime, I’ve been a columnist for SOL, Tribuna Expresso, and Sapo24, and I’ve published 4 books. I don’t recommend any of them. I hosted CC Black Friday on SIC Radical and Scroll for 3 seasons on RTP2 (I’m proud of this, I admit). Among various shows, I’ve released two stand-up specials, Lugar Estranho and Processo de Humanização em Curso, and I’m currently performing in the comedy Amor, Quero Beijar Mais Pessoas, where I’m both actor and co-author.
Oh, and I also had the podcasts Traz Cerveja and E a Tua Passagem de Ano?, and I’m still doing Desta Para Melhor (with annual seasons).
Some people can’t tell whether I’m a comedian or an activist. It doesn’t matter. I think I can be both, and that’s fine. Above all, I try to use my art (is it really art?) to fight for the values I believe in, whether it’s feminism, LGBTQIA+ rights, the right to housing, fair wealth redistribution, and, above all, anti-fascism. I’m not sure if it works, but I’ll keep trying.
